The living is a vicarage, value £338, in the patronage of the earl of Chesterfield, and incumbency of the Rev. Peter Thomas Ouvry, M.A. The church has been lately restored, and the pews altered. The Baptists and Primitive and Wesleyan Methodists have chapels here. There are Church and Infant Schools. The former was built by Lord Overstone, in 1850, with a. residence for the master, at a. cost of about £700. The almshouses for eight poor men and women, were founded in 1516, by Dame Dorothy Pelham. The inmates receive each 4s. per week.
Ascot House, for many years the seat of the Dormers, and inherited from them by the earls of Chesterfield, has been pulled down, but the park is still enclosed.
